Background... I have a LED strip with so called neo pixels (received from someone). I created a test piece with connector and 3 'pixels'. Also made a "littlewire" (attiny85) device to control them from the computer (demo program for five leds). Now for the ring.... 1... construction is excellent 2... Inside the glass the difference between the reference and the ring is that the LEDS in the ring seems to have more metal as the base. 3... Testing with demo program showed first five working. Then changed program to 25 and after some compiling trouble it finally worked and all were lit up and rotating the five colors. 4... They get surprisingly warm but saw (felt) the same effect on the three LED strip test piece. So depending on application some cooling might be needed. In conclusion... Although relative expensive to normal LEDs it is a bargain compared to neo pixels. No complaints, good quality and price so it is certainly worth buying.
