Couple of things first - I haven´t seen classic "hot wire" light bulb in at last a decade, so the thing that surprised me most was a lot of heat that this bulb produces. That´s not surprising, given the technology, but it is something you need to consider. The bulb reaches maximum output immediately. The light output is not too great but then again, that is absolutely fine given the technology. If you need to light a room (not very big one), I would not consider wattage below 60. Now the best parts - the light is very nice and warm, just as can be expected. And this thing is just beautiful. The inner spiral is nicely executed and symmetrical and the glass has nice golden tint. Only gripe I have is that there is something rattling around in the base of bulb, but as long as it works, it is just minor anoyance. I cannot comment on lifespan, got it few days ago. I would guess, given the length of thread, that these things will burn out fast (maybe I´m wrong), but given the price and the looks, I will buy couple more to have some spare.
