Works really well for 1d barcodes. Can be triggered by button, serial code or left in continuous scan mode. Only 2D codes supported are QR Codes .. which need plenty of light. Does not support Data Matrix or PDF417 barcodes (from what I can tell from testing and from the documentation). Has a built in LED light (which can be controlled - turned off/dimmed via command codes) and a red "laser" read line Highly recommend downloading the manual which allows you to configure the settings by scanning QR Codes or entering codes via serial port. Works as either a keyboard interface or serial, via usb ports or header pins.
