I purchased this amp for my 2.1 speaker system and needed a amplifier to accept a normal line out from my stereo as other amps have. The gain is set to high by a fixed resistor. on the board. Had the designer included a gain control for the line in this may have corrected the problem. According to the data sheet there are four input gain settings. I can only assume this amp is geared more towards the user for Bluetooth only unless a very low level input is used. Perhaps a portable CD player that has a low output level may work. Secondly, there is no heat sink paste on top of the main amplifier chips under the heatsinks. The board I received was warped and one of the heatsinks was not sitting properly. Thirdly, the fans run full on and are noisy. For the money, a thermistor would have been nice so the fans run when the amp is driven hard. More attention to detail in the assembly is needed as the potentiometer were all soldered in crooked. Overall, I would not recommend this amplifier for an addition to a home system using a line out. I will not be using this board as it would need hours of work to fix the problems. Perhaps a project in the future or not. If you want a little amp for Bluetooth only then it should be okay as long as it is not near the listener. The TDA 7498E is an excellent chip if the architecture built around it is thoughtfully designed.
