BG552154173 I tought that at first too - you need to start it at do the calibration when its NOT connected so that the valve pressure actually is turned all the way in. Then actually install it on the heater - don't be confused that the distance is greatee then in the picture. Afterwards remove the batteries when its installed and do the calibration again. You can teat if it closes properly by using the Tuya App and setting the Mode to "Force Close" (you might need to wait for some time especially when you install it the heater will drive at maximum so it will take a while to cool down)

BG552154173 The Cloud is the norm for almost ANY plug like this since the usual guy next door doesn't self host or even know what "Intranet" means. This includes brand products from for example Honeywell, Netatmo, Tado, EVE ... You can flash this with Tasmota Open-Source Firmware since its based on ESP8266. This is something you cant do on the big brands.
