A nice, handy little device for your pocket, equipped with two small mercury tubes, which for safety's sake only switch on when the lamp is directed downwards. When folded, the small mercury tubes remain well protected. Two AA required - no rechargeable batteries are installed. But in contrast to the many offered LED lamps with some blue light, UV-C light is definitely emitted here (Hg main peak 253nm). This light can actually disinfect a little or cause chemical reactions. Small power - but to be used with caution for skin and eyes. That's exactly what we wanted!
