The price is only for one radio. This radio has a short stubby anttena which may be fixed unlike the previous version. The radio is limited to 0.5 watt except in the other two modes where a max of 3 watts is possible. So in terms of range these are fairly short range rather fancy walkie talkies which are very simple to operate although you need to check out the legality for usage in your country. The maxium range is dependant on terrian for best results line of sight high up to avoid obstacles will always yield the best results no matter what radio you use.
