This module is based on ESP8285, which has built in 1MB memory in the chip. Text on PCB: Sonoff RF R2 POWER V1.0 20190830. On other ESP8266 modules it is possible to replace the memory-chips to increase memory. With this one the memory is probably restricted to the built in memory of 1MB. I have replaced the original firmware with Annex WiFi firmware and everything works perfectly. During firmware loading the push-button has to be pressed at power-up and during the whole firmware loading. On the PCB there is a soldering point for GPIO2, which I have used for connection of DS18B20 temperature sensors. 4.7k pull-up resistor directly between GPIO2 and 3.3V and DS18B20 dataline connected to GPIO2. This gives the possibilities for making a temperature controlled relay-output. It arrived today and so far I am satisfied with the Sonoff.
